Terms of Service

These terms govern purchases and use of the StoryBookDaddy website, The Little Lantern League portal, and related services supplied by DocTalk LLC, trading as StoryBookDaddy (“we,” “us”). Please read them with our Return and Refund Policy, Shipping Policy, and Privacy Policy. Mandatory consumer rights take priority over any conflicting provision.

Adult responsibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter a contract to purchase or create an adult account. If the age of majority where you live is higher, you must meet that requirement. You must have authority to act for any household, school, or organization you register. Children may use appropriate learning content under a parent, guardian, or authorized educator's supervision.

Keep account credentials and adult access codes secure, provide accurate adult information, and notify us of suspected unauthorized access. Use the household and school features provided to share access within your license. Do not publish login credentials or resell access. An adult remains responsible for purchases and account settings; a child cannot authorize charges or marketing consent.

Orders, prices, and availability

The product description and checkout identify the items, currency, applicable taxes, delivery charges, and included access. Review these details before ordering. We acknowledge orders electronically. If an item cannot be supplied or a material pricing error occurs, we will contact you to resolve the issue or cancel and refund the affected purchase; we will not impose a higher price without your agreement.

Preorder dates are estimates supported by our fulfillment plans. Delay and cancellation rights are described in our Shipping Policy and Return and Refund Policy. An order does not include unreleased volumes, future games, or additional services unless the offer expressly says so. Later changes to an offer do not remove benefits already promised in your purchase.

Digital and portal access

A digital purchase grants a limited license to access and use the included content for the stated purpose and period. It does not transfer copyright. Family licenses permit personal household use. School or institutional use requires the corresponding license, subject to its permitted users, classrooms, locations, and term.

Where an offer includes one year of portal access, the term starts at the activation point specified in that offer or access confirmation. We will provide the applicable start and end dates. Access is not lifetime access unless expressly stated. Internet access and a compatible device are needed for online features; offline availability depends on the feature and license.

Downloads and printables may be used only as their license permits. You may not redistribute paid files, publicly upload books or videos, sell copies, share protected access links outside your license, or bypass access controls. These restrictions do not remove copyright exceptions or other rights that applicable law gives you.

Renewals and refunds

We will charge recurring fees only where you separately and expressly agree to a renewal offer that discloses the amount or calculation, frequency, and cancellation method. A one-time bundle purchase does not by itself authorize automatic renewal. If a subscription is offered, its checkout and confirmation will explain how to cancel future charges and when cancellation takes effect.

Returns, cancellations, and refunds follow our Return and Refund Policy and applicable law. A full refund can end access granted by the refunded purchase. We assess partial refunds so that unrelated, valid purchases are not automatically removed.

Educational content and virtual rewards

Our materials support family learning and Islamic character education. They are not individualized medical, psychological, legal, or religious rulings and do not establish a professional relationship with the founders or contributors. Parents and educators should select suitable content and seek qualified guidance for individual questions.

Where interactive teaching features are available, they support the lesson experience and may defer questions outside the approved material. Availability of a planned feature is not guaranteed by its mention in promotional materials unless it is expressly included in your purchase.

Game points and Lantern Coins, where available, are virtual rewards with no cash value. They are not money, deposits, or cryptocurrency and cannot be redeemed for cash. In-game giving does not transfer real money or create a tax-deductible donation. Any actual payment or donation requires a separate adult-authorized transaction and appropriate disclosures.

Acceptable use

Do not use our services unlawfully; harass others; introduce malicious software; impersonate another person; access another household's or school's records; collect children's personal information; bypass security or parental controls; or infringe intellectual-property rights. Do not submit unnecessary personal information about children in support requests, reviews, or interactive features.

Ownership and submissions

Our books, characters, illustrations, videos, audio, software, logos, and learning materials are owned by us or our licensors and protected by applicable law. Buying a physical book transfers ownership of that copy, not the underlying intellectual property.

You keep ownership of content you submit. You grant only the permission reasonably needed to receive, store, display as intended, and respond to that submission. Private support messages, family-profile images, and children's information are not licensed for promotional use by these terms. If we request permission to use a testimonial or image in marketing, that permission is separate. Nothing prohibits an honest review or lawful complaint.

Providers, service changes, and suspension

Shopify hosts our storefront. Other providers help deliver payments, portal access, digital readers, and videos. Your purchase contract is with the identified seller, and our use of providers does not remove our obligations to you. External sites you choose to visit may have their own terms.

We may maintain or improve the service and address security incidents. We will not use an update to remove a paid benefit without an appropriate remedy where required. We may restrict an account reasonably believed to involve fraud, serious misuse, or a security threat. Where practical and lawful, we will explain the reason and provide a way to seek review through support. Suspension does not automatically forfeit refunds or other statutory rights.

Responsibility and disputes

We aim to provide the products and services as described, but cannot promise uninterrupted internet or third-party availability. Nothing excludes liability or warranties that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable rights concerning satisfactory quality, fitness, conformity, fraud, or personal injury caused by negligence. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for business losses arising from use of a service supplied for personal household use, or losses unrelated to our breach.

Please contact Inquiry@storybookdaddy.com first so we can try to resolve a concern. These terms do not require private arbitration or waive access to a court, regulator, or other legally available remedy. The laws applicable to the contract govern it, including mandatory protections in your place of residence. No exclusive court location is imposed by these terms.

Updates and remaining provisions

We may update these terms for future use or purchases and provide material-change notices as required. Changes will not retroactively remove existing purchase rights. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining terms continue to the extent lawful. Product-specific terms disclosed before purchase apply to that product, but cannot override mandatory rights.
